As official sponsor of the Blooom Award special exhibition and, particularly, through its support of the Blooom Award by Warsteiner, the family-owned brewery will be supporting young artists once again in 2019.

In 2010, the Blooom Award was held for the first time, and, with its 615 applicants, it enjoyed a very strong resonance in the art and creative industry.

In 2011, Warsteiner then continued to build upon this extraordinary beginning and once again went in search of artists of every kind – both in Germany and, for the first time, in the Netherlands as well. The vigorous and internationally connected art world and creative industry of Germany’s neighbor made it a natural choice for the inner-European expansion of the Blooom Award. Emerging artists from the Netherlands and Germany were offered the chance to come together and to profit from a unique opportunity to exhibit their work.

In 2012, the award was extended to a worldwide level. With more than 2,000 applications from 84 countries in the whole world in 2016, and even 2,300 application from 90 countries, Blooom Award by Warsteiner was more successful than ever.

Catharina Cramer, owner of the Warsteiner group

“We started the Blooom Award with the idea of offering young artists a platform to make their works available to a broad public. Over the past ten years, we have created a network for young artists from gallery owners, art experts and museum directors that provides long-term support to young artists in gaining a foothold in the art market.

We jurors now select the five talents from more than 2,800 submissions who can shape the market through their art. The award focuses primarily on interdisciplinary works: Since 2017, we have combined our passion and commitment to art and music with the special category of music video.”
