Binding conditions of participation in the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER 2013

I) Participation:
The BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER appeals to creative artists and artists groups, etc. All persons who have completed their 18th year of life are entitled to participate.
The information on the person/on the persons must be truthful. If improperly used it can lead to exclusion of the participant/the participants. Solely the participant(s) is(are) responsible for the correctness of the information to be filled in. If required, the participant(s) is(are) to prove the absolute certainty of the correctness of this information, especially the required minimum participation age.

Participation is undertaken online at www.blooomaward.com and is possible up to 31 July 2013, 23:59 (submission of the completed participation form).
Please fill out the registration mask with the following statements and information:

- Contact data (complete name, if applicable pseudonym, address, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address of the participant).
- Statement on the submitted work including text of max 100 words about its origination
- Curriculum vitae of the artist (no information on the racial or ethnic origins, political opinions, religious or philosophical convictions, trade union membership, health or sexual life. Excepted are implicit statements which are only expressed in the work of art itself).
- Submission as jpg (min. 300 dpi), pdf or Vimeo or Youtube-Link

The participant(s) has/have the opportunity to revoke the consent on saving and processing their information; this retraction simultaneously applies as a withdrawal from participation. The withdrawal is to be made electronically and is to be sent to info@blooomaward.com.

Only one submission (no series) is permitted per applicant/group.
The work must not be older than two years on 31 July 2013.
If impermissible work is submitted, the respective participant will be irrevocably excluded.
Please note that in case of a joint application of several artists, only the communication between the main contact stated by the group and the organisation of the competition is decisive.

There is fundamentally no right of participation in the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER. Consequently, Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Brauerei KG can refuse an application without stating any reasons. Also, the participant(s) has/have the possibility of withdrawing from participation.

There will be extensive coverage of the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER – even before the finals. That provides the participant(s) an opportunity to reach a wide, interested public with their work. This procedure is an integral part of the concept of the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER. For that reason, with submission of the application documents the participant(s) declare(s) their consent to the free-of-charge publication of their work, their curriculum vitae, possibly their portrait (if requested), if applicable their place of residence, age and their texts on the website www.blooomaward.com, in the BLOOOM Area of the ART.FAIR | Fair for modern and contemporary art 2013, on the online and printed articles for the press relations in the frame of the trade fair platform BLOOOM and the ART.FAIR along with all other advertising actions during the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER. If applicable, the participant(s) should also be available for interviews. The participant does not have any right to the carrying out such activities.

With the application to the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER every participant/group bindingly declares that the submitted work is a unique specimen (series are not permitted), which was independently designed and created by the participant(s) themselves and that they thus possess all rights to this work and that no rights have been granted or transferred to third parties. In addition, if there are images of any persons, the competitor(s) must have a written consent from the same person(s) regarding the use of the image as a component of the work which includes the consent to publication of the work in the above-mentioned scope and which will be sent to Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer KG in writing upon request.

Furthermore, the participant(s) ensure(s) that their work does not reproduce any externally copyrighted works or contains them in any other way. Moreover, the work must not have originated based on an external template.

The participant(s) exempt(s) art.fair International GmbH and Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer KG from any claims by third parties.


II) Jury & Competition:
An expert jury (for the current composition, please go to www.blooomaward.com) will select the best ten submissions. The participants will be immediately notified about the decisions of the jury. If applicable they will be informed of their final qualification, but not of their place.

The ten finalists will be presented both on the website of www.blooomaward.com as well as during the BLOOOM Area of the ART.FAIR | Fair for modern and contemporary art 2013 in Cologne and under certain circumstances portrayed in the online and printed articles in the frame of press relations. Among the ten finalists, the Winner of the BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER 2013 will be publicly selected during the ART.FAIR | Fair for modern and contemporary art and will be awarded with the first prize. Additional prizes will be waiting for the second and third places in decreasing order. The prizes are stated at www.blooomaward.com.

The judgement of the jury is binding.
Confirming the Conditions of Participation the participant declares that he or she will build up his or her work at the special exhibition until the beginning of the special exhibition on Oct 30, 11 a.m. if the jury choses his or her work to be one of the ten final works. The participant also declares that his or her work will be presented during the whole special exhibition until Nov 3, 2013 if the jury choses his or her work to be one of the ten final works.

The competition ends on 3 November 2013 during the BLOOOM at ART.FAIR | Fair for modern and contemporary art.
The BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER supports the finalists during their travel to the awards ceremony in the form of a travelling allowance of €150 per finalist work. Moreover, Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer KG will provide the winners of places 1-3 with hotel accommodations for one night. Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer KG will select and book the hotel.

Cash reimbursement of the prize is not possible. The prizes must be redeemed by the respective persons within one year. By way of derogation the Art Basel Miami Beach can be visited in either 2013 or 2014. Otherwise the right to the prizes is obviated. Legal recourse is precluded.

The English version of these Conditions of Participation is to be used for informational purposes only. In the event that the English version deviates in terms of its meaning or literal sense, only the German version shall be considered definitive.
